What Is Anxiety?
Anxiety is your body’s reaction to stress even when there is no immediate threat. If you do not deal with anxiety it may start to affect your life. Anxiety, if not addressed, will affect you mentally, physically, and emotionally. How do we identify anxiety?
What Are Some Symptoms?
- Excessive worry
- Uneasiness
- Tension
- High blood pressure
- Loss of sleep
- Increased heart rate
- Breathing rapidly
- Sweating
What Can Cause Anxiety?
- Stress that can result from work, school, personal relationship
- Emotional trauma
- Financial concerns

- Alcohol consumption, drugs such as cocaine
How To Overcome/Deal With Anxiety?
Now that we identified what causes anxiety and the symptoms that follow, how do we overcome or deal with anxiety. There are several things you can do to help with lowering or controlling your anxiety.
- Exercise daily
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Get enough sleep
- Learn what triggers anxiety and alleviating it
- Eat well- balanced diets
- Practice relaxation techniques such as yoga or mindfulness
