Hi there,

I’m so glad you’re here. Let me share a little about myself. For the past 30 years, I’ve been deeply passionate about helping people—not in a “nosy, tell-me-everything” kind of way, but in an “I feel your hurt and genuinely want to help lighten the load” kind of way.

I grew up on a Midwest farm, surrounded by traditional values and the belief that children should be “seen and not heard.” Like many, I learned to bury emotions and find less-than-healthy ways to cope. Mix in undiagnosed ADHD, and, well… let’s just say life got chaotic!

Over time, I discovered that listening to others share their struggles not only brought me closer to them but also helped me better understand my own. That realization led me on a journey through six years of higher education and ultimately to becoming a therapist.

There’s a whole story behind how New Heights Counseling came to be, but what I really want you to know is this: I get how hard it can be to find a therapist who truly fits and to trust in the process of change.
