Crestview Trauma Counseling
Trauma Counseling is a specific method of therapy that recognizes and understands how a traumatic experience can affect a client’s mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. "Trauma literally changes the brain and the way that the neural pathways are," says Sarah Fader from Betterhelp. The focus, therefore, centers on the client's processing of emotions and memories from the traumatic event and developing coping skills and strategies. If you suffer from trauma, New Heights therapists will work with you, at your pace, to create a healthier and more adaptive way to cope. Learn more about trauma [What Is Trauma?].
Crestview EMDR Counseling
(EMDR) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is heavily researched and proven to be an effective method of therapy for patients troubled by PTSD, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. "The bilateral stimulation (BLS) used in EMDR gives you something to focus on as you access painful memories and unwanted thoughts" states Anna Gotter, writer for Healthline.com. Patients, who receive this therapeutic technique, experience the elimination of or decrease in symptoms. Questions? Contact a New Heights counselor today. Crestview Addiction Counseling
Addiction Counseling is a treatment that helps clients, suffering from substance abuse, identify and change negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. New Heights counselors offer non-judgmental support and assist clients to learn important skills and strategies to avoid relapse and maintain sobriety. "While addiction does result in specific changes to the structure of the brain...it is still possible for people to reverse this damage," writes Hailey Shafir for Therapytribe. If you or someone you love, struggles with addictions, reach out to us today. Learn more about addiction symptoms and treatment [What Is An Addiction?].
Crestview Group Counseling
Group counseling may at first feel intimidating yet there are many benefits. Individuals who attend groups find supportive peers and a safe place to discuss openly and honestly targeted specific problems. "When people learn to interact freely with other group members, they tend to recreate the same patterns of interactions that have proved troublesome to them outside of the group," states a writer for Appalachian State University Counseling Services. Topics cover a wide range of problems. Everyone deserves to be supported. Learn more about what groups are available at New Heights Counseling [What Groups Are Being Offered?].
