Evidence-Based Care & Tailored Modalities for Depression
Depression is complex and rarely responds to a one-size-fits-all approach. According to guidance from the American Psychological Association (APA), psychotherapy helps individuals pinpoint contributing life events, reframe distorted thinking, and regain behavioral momentum. At New Heights Counseling, we partner with you to build a personalized treatment plan combining multiple gold-standard, research-backed modalities tailored to your unique history, symptoms, and goals.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
How EMDR Aids Depression Recovery: When depression is rooted in unresolved past trauma, adverse life events, or deep-seated emotional pain, EMDR targets and reprocesses core negative self-beliefs (such as "I am helpless," "I am a failure," or "I am fundamentally unlovable"). By replacing these neural loops with adaptive positive beliefs, clients often experience profound shifts in daily mood and self-worth.
🛡️ Our Level 2 EMDR clinicians strictly adhere to evidence-backed protocols established by the EMDR International Association. Read EMDRIA's official Introduction to EMDR Therapy, or learn more about our local services on our Crestview EMDR Therapy Page →
